Rich Educational Resources
Ever since its opening-up, Pudong has always budgeted 25 percent of its fiscal revenue on education. Pudong now enjoys a network of 650 nursery, elementary and secondary schools, with an enrollment of 500,000 students. Among them, 22 schools are newly added to the network in 2015. Prestigious universities have opened their campuses in Pudong, such as New York University Shanghai, China Europe International Business School, and Fudan University.
Pudong is also home to various international schools, including Wellington College International Shanghai, Dulwich College Shanghai, Concordia International School Shanghai, Yew Chung International School of Shanghai, Yew Wah International Education School, Shanghai American School, Shanghai Japanese School, and German School Shanghai, as well as the International Division of No.2 High School affiliated to East China Normal University and the International Division of the Shanghai Jincai International School. There are nearly 60 local schools authorized to enroll international students.
