Fujian University Zhangjiang Research Institute was inaugurated in Shanghai’s Zhangjiang area on May 25, the latest step in industry-university-research cooperation between Zhangjiang and Fudan University.
The research institute, registered in Zhangjiang in 2013, has been working on building leading scientific research infrastructure and promoting innovative technology transfer and incubation over the past two years.
It intends to build three innovation centers that respectively focus on precision medicine and health, brain science and artificial intelligence, and micro-nano electronic and quantum devices.
Fudan University, one of China’s top ranking universities, serves as a talent pool for Zhangjiang and provides many of the outstanding scientific talent that the area requires to further its development.

Fudan University’s cooperation with Zhangjiang dates back 2005 when the university built a campus in Zhangjiang. Some of its schools featuring software, microelectronics, pharmaceuticals and computer science have developed closer relationships with Zhangjiang’s industries over the past decade.
Li Jingye, deputy director of Zhangjiang High Tech Park administrative committee, said that Zhangjiang will further strengthen its cooperation with Fudan University and hopes to offer strong support to the construction of Zhangjiang Research Institute.
