Six from Shanghai's bonded zones recognized as trade headquarters
Shanghai has recognized 32 companies as trade headquarters in 2025, including six from the city's bonded zones.
Among them, Siemens Healthineers' trade headquarters, established in the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone in 2015, serves as the company's Asia-Pacific hub. It integrates various functions such as R&D, manufacturing, sales, and training, providing centralized management for its subsidiaries and improving resource utilization and decision-making.
Infineon Technologies, a global semiconductor leader, set up its first logistics center in China at the Pudong Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone in 2014. In 2022, it launched Infineon Technologies (Shanghai) Co Ltd, which has become a key sales arm for Infineon.
Trade headquarters in Shanghai are centers for procurement, distribution, marketing, settlement, and logistics. In 2021, Shanghai introduced policies to support the establishment of such headquarters, aiming to attract multifunctional trade enterprises.
The bonded zones are focused on becoming a hub for global resource allocation and high-end industries. By fostering a business-friendly environment and implementing supportive policies, they aim to help multinational companies integrate their operations and build a robust headquarters economy.
