The Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone has achieved significant growth in its imported car business this year.
By leveraging policy benefits and efficient services, the zone has increased both the quantity and quality of imported vehicles, demonstrating strong resilience and vitality. This success supports Shanghai's goal of becoming an international consumption hub.
Recent data show that from January to November, the zone processed 12,485 first-line imported vehicles, valued at nearly $1.1 billion, a 46.94 percent increase over last year.
Additionally, it handled 14,436 second-line imported vehicles, worth about $1.15 billion, marking an impressive 156.35 percent year-on-year increase in volume.
To meet the high efficiency demands of car importers, the zone introduced "advance declaration" and a "green channel" for cars. It has integrated vehicle declaration, inspection, and release, reducing customs clearance times and boosting logistics efficiency.
The zone prioritizes a "customer-first" approach, offering dedicated services for car importers. Regular client visits help the zone stay aligned with business needs, quickly addressing any issues. When vehicle arrivals peak, the zone efficiently manages resources to ensure smooth operations.
Its comprehensive, supportive services have earned high praise from businesses and are attracting more high-end automotive resources from around the globe.
