Shanghai Pudong International Airport has recently introduced 24-hour security screening services for domestic departures at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, significantly enhancing convenience for transit passengers and those catching late-night flights.

The move, coupled with a series of initiatives aimed at facilitating international travelers, underscores the commitment of Pudong New Area to elevating Shanghai's status as China's top inbound tourism destination.

In addition to airport upgrades, Pudong has rolled out a plethora of cultural, tourism, commerce, sports, and exhibition events, complemented by policies such as instant departure tax refunds.

Benefiting from expanded visa-free access and a 240-hour transit visa exemption policy, Shanghai has witnessed a surge in airport passenger traffic. To further streamline the entry process, Pudong Airport has upgraded commercial and dining facilities, established a one-stop service center for foreigners, and implemented measures like dynamic adjustment of security lanes and multilingual support.

Pudong is also leveraging its vibrant consumption environment, launching activities integrating culture, tourism, commerce, sports, and exhibitions to attract global visitors. With a focus on enhancing international consumption convenience, Pudong is expanding the coverage of tax refund stores and instant tax refund services, while also improving payment accessibility for international tourists.
