Global Hub in Shanghai FTZ pioneering trade innovation
Global Hub, a global display and trading platform for bonded consumer goods in Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone under the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, has become an efficient channel for overseas products entering the Chinese market by serving as a link to the China International Import Expo (CIIE).
Last October, the State Council, China's Cabinet, approved the establishment of a pilot zone for Silk Road E-commerce cooperation in Shanghai, with the platform opening up distribution channels between cross-border procurement and domestic market.
The platform has connected 34 country-specific centers and commodity centers. Leveraging the institutional innovation advantages of the FTZ and building upon the mature professional trade service platforms in Waigaoqiao, the platform focuses on countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It connects with resources from embassies and international chambers of commerce and emphasizes services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Global Hub plays a pivotal role in facilitating economic and trade exchanges between China and other countries, acting as an "incubator" for products and projects from overseas SMEs, facilitating Chinese enterprises' overseas investments, and promoting project cooperation with BRI countries and regions.
It deepens economic and trade cooperation with BRI countries and Silk Road E-commerce partner nations, promotes integration of industrial and supply chains, explores new economic growth drivers in international trade, and forges a new frontier for an open economy.
