Pudong Airport Comprehensive Bonded Area boosts health and medical industry
BD Medical, a key enterprise based in the Pudong Airport Comprehensive Bonded Area in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, has recently obtained class II medical device filing certification and a class III medical device business license for its self-operated medical device distribution center project. This development came as the company entered its operational phase within the area and its first batch of imported products successfully completed customs clearance.
Serving as a pivotal hub connecting the world through air, rail and port integration, the comprehensive bonded area is boosting the momentum of the health and medical industry.
A subsidiary of global medical device giant Becton Dickinson, BD Medical initiated its medical device distribution center project in January. Spanning approximately 8,600 square meters within the Pudong Airport Comprehensive Bonded Area, the project includes a temperature and humidity-controlled high-standard warehouse provided by a subsidiary of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone Group, meeting the regulatory requirements of Chinese authorities.
The comprehensive bonded area has been closely aligned with the needs of the company, continuously improving mechanisms in areas such as power supply, emergency response, and pest control.
BD Medical has expressed its commitment to using the distribution center as a pilot project to meet business demands in the East China region over the next 5 to 10 years, thereby supporting long-term growth and expansion.
