The first batch of academician expert workstations and overseas academician innovation bases for this year in Shanghai were recently unveiled in Pudong New Area.
Eight units were also awarded for their outstanding performances in 2022 during the ceremony.
At the beginning of this year, Pudong New Area issued eight policies to further support the development of members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and overseas academicians in Pudong.
The eight policies for academicians include encouraging the introduction of academicians, supporting the cultivation of academicians, and supporting academicians' innovation and entrepreneurship.
Pudong had previously established seven academician expert workstations, and the second batch has already completed the preliminary review and recommendation of two academician workstations and six expert workstations.
Furthermore, two overseas academician innovation bases have been set up, with their operating model considered innovative and pioneering on the national level.
Academicians and experts from these workstations have since provided eight proposals related to areas such as 6G industry, quantum information, and future materials. These proposals have provided the government with support for decision-making.
