The Beicai industrial community (south district) of Zhangjiang Science City in Shanghai is accelerating construction.

With a planned area of about 140 hectares, it is the key development area of Beicai, a town in Pudong New Area and is expected to become a new landmark of the Yuqiao region within the Golden Middle Ring Development Belt.

The Beicai industrial community project has been recognized as a characteristic industrial park in Shanghai. The Zhangjiang Metaverse Characteristic Industrial Park, part of the project, has a total construction area of about 1.78 million square meters. Construction will begin this August and be divided into three phases.

Lujiazui digital intelligent Tiandi, an essential part of the south district of Beicai industrial community and which used to be called Yuqiao science and innovation park, focuses on the digital business ecosystem and metaverse industry. It aims to create an innovative ecosystem suitable for the development of the metaverse.

The first phase of the Beicai industrial community project is about to be completed. A number of fintech companies plan to establish their R&D headquarters in the area, with a focus on setting up four main laboratories for blockchain, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and big data. 

Artificial intelligence and metaverse-related incubation and acceleration platforms are one of the focuses of the project. An innovation center platform focusing on integrated circuit design and digital business will also be set up.
