Shanghai releases top 100 foreign-invested enterprises of the year
Recently, four top 100 lists that evaluate Shanghai's foreign-invested enterprises in terms of revenue, foreign trade volume, taxation and employment creation, respectively, in 2021 were released and a total of 253 enterprises made the list.
On the four lists, four companies, namely, Apple Computer Trading (Shanghai) Co, Tech-Com (Shanghai) Computer Co, Porsche (China) Motors Limited and Protek (Shanghai) Limited ranked first, and 12 enterprises, including BASF SE, Louis Vuitton and Tesla made all four lists.
Among all of the foreign-invested enterprises, those made the lists are the leading ones in enhancing economic development and they serve as the incarnation of Shanghai's quality development. It is said that the top 100 enterprises contributed to 34.75 percent of the total revenue made by all foreign-invested enterprises, as they contributed 47.3 percent to the foreign trade, 34.67 percent to taxation and 18.54 percent to employment creation.
On the lists, 137 enterprises are located in Pudong New Area, with 123 enterprises in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone (Shanghai FTZ). Seventy enterprises are from the United States, 33 are from Japan and 30 are from Germany. Enterprises specializing in wholesale, retail trade, manufacturing and business services sectors ranked the highest.
