Shanghai to build quantum sciences research center

The Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shanghai Government signed a cooperation agreement to build the Shanghai Research Center for Quantum Sciences on June 14.
The research center will take advantage of the scientific innovation in Shanghai's Zhangjiang Science City and strive to become a leading scientific and technological innovation base.
The center is also looking to become an internationally influential center for innovative talents.
Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong said during the signing ceremony that quantum technology is an emerging field with very strong potential, and he urged Shanghai to attach more importance to the development of such technology as it seeks to become a science and innovation center.
