Shanghai has moved forward with plans to build the city into an innovative smart city in the era of artificial intelligence (AI), with the issuance of an implementation plan on the construction of AI application scenarios.

According to the plan, the city will set a national example in the deep application of AI technology by setting up six demonstration areas for innovative AI application and 60 deep application scenarios.

In the case of intellectual resources, the first batch of 10 fields and 19 scenarios launched in the plan, including factories, communities, and schools, invite solutions from home and abroad.

To date, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information has received more than 170 solutions from foreign countries such as the United States, France and Netherlands, and cities and provinces in China such as Beijing and Zhejiang.

Next, the solutions collected by the government will be introduced to 19 demanding units through symposiums and face-to-face discussions in order to better integrate AI technology with social and economic development.
