Organized by the Shanghai PFTZ International Cultural Investment and Development Co, the "brand cultivation plan for national library cultural and creative product development alliance" was launched on Jan 8 in Beijing, China.

Supported by the National Library of China and the National Library Cultural and Creative Product Development Alliance, the brand cultivation plan is designed to bring the utmost out of the abundant book resources and expand the "book + cultural creativity" industrial chain, so as to inject new vitality into traditional culture and promote the protection and development of traditional culture.

"We will continue to give full play to the multiple advantages of the cultural platforms, policies and resources of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone and support the development of the National Library Cultural and Creative Product Development Alliance," said Hu Huanzhong, president of the Shanghai PFTZ International Cultural Investment and Development Co.

The Tmall flagship store of the alliance, designed, developed and operated by the Shanghai PFTZ International Cultural Investment and Development Co, was also launched on the day.

Tmall, owned by e-commerce giant Alibaba, is China's largest business-to-customer marketplace.

During the early-stage preparations of the online store, Shanghai PFTZ International Cultural Investment and Development Co established an expert group and professional teams to conduct comprehensive analysis and in-depth exploitation of the library classic books in a bid to develop products combining cultural elements and life aesthetics while at the same time catering to the market.

The store now offers nearly 50 categories of cultural creative products.

In recent years, China has been striving to turn its cultural and creative industry into an economic pillar, encouraging more animation, comics, arts and cultural enterprises to commercialize their creativity and IPs into licensed products and services.
