Pimax Technology developed an 8K VR headset in January 2017, and also started fundraising on Kickstarter. It became the most unexpected Chinese VR product hit of 2017, because it raised a total of $4.23 million from 5,946 users worldwide, breaking the previous $2.43 million fundraising record of VR products created by Oculus, a VR subsidiary of Facebook.
