Shanghai expands scope of expedited clearance policy within Yangshan FTZ
To fully leverage the benefits of ongoing reforms and bolster trade facilitation efforts, Shanghai has recently expanded the reach of its expedited customs clearance policy within the Yangshan Free Trade Zone, situated in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. This extension now encompasses the Waigaoqiao area of Shanghai Port and Pudong International Airport, as announced by Shanghai Customs.
This initiative, now covering nearly all major ports in Shanghai, helps to cement the city's position as a pivotal hub for international trade and logistics. The expedited customs clearance policy enables the swift clearance of goods not requiring permits or inspections, thereby optimizing the process for businesses involved in the pickup and delivery of goods. Initially launched in 2020 within the Yangshan FTZ, the sole special comprehensive bonded zone in China, the policy continues to streamline trade operations and enhance efficiency across the region.
