HKU Zhangjiang Base Phase II opens in Pudong

Phase II of the University of Hong Kong's (HKU) Zhangjiang Base opened on Aug 30, with hundreds of HKU students from around the world to join the campus in the new academic year.

Leveraging Zhangjiang's strong innovation ecosystem and industrial resources, the campus will promote interdisciplinary research, scientific innovation and industry collaboration, providing young talent with opportunities to connect with the world and embrace innovation.

The newly opened Building 3 houses the Intelligent Computing Research Center, as well as labs for AI, research and collaboration, and teaching collaboration. Building 5 expands campus life facilities, offering spaces for sports, interaction, co-creation and diverse campus activities.

According to HKU President Zhang Xiang, the university looks forward to deepening collaboration with Shanghai's industries in cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields and building an integrated innovation ecosystem spanning research, teaching and industry.
