The 2026 Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season will run from July to October, spanning the summer holiday period as well as the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day break.

The program will feature signature events such as the ATP 1000 tennis tournament alongside major art exhibitions, while Pudong will introduce a comprehensive set of new consumption scenarios built around four core themes: global cuisine, trendy IP culture, family and pet-friendly activities, and exclusive perks for inbound travelers.

Branded "Shanghai Summer, Join the Family Fun", the campaign is structured around six themed chapters represented by each letter of "S-U-M-M-E-R." These chapters cover sports events, urban sightseeing, museum exhibitions, live music performances, entertainment programs, and relaxing leisure activities, creating a citywide seasonal framework for culture and consumption.

The first theme centers on global cuisine. A large-scale Asian food carnival will open on July 2 at the Shanghai International Convention Center, with dedicated dining zones and supporting beer and coffee festivals across business districts including Lujiazui, Qiantan, and Jinqiao.

The second theme focuses on trendy IP-driven experiences. Pudong will host a comic carnival in conjunction with ChinaJoy, alongside pop-up installations featuring popular IPs and lifestyle festivals spanning toys, animation, and related creative industries across multiple shopping malls.

The third theme is dedicated to family, children, and pet-friendly activities. Shanghai Disney Resort will introduce new daily performances and enhanced nighttime light shows, while local aquariums, zoos, and museums across the city will offer overnight programs and themed educational tours designed for families.

The fourth theme targets inbound travelers with tailored consumption incentives. Benefits will include duty-free vouchers, spending rebates, and air ticket lucky draws at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, alongside dining coupons aimed at stimulating both international and domestic consumption.
