Shanghai Tourism Festival brings travel extravaganza
The 36th Shanghai Tourism Festival, innovatively adopting a "one festival, two seasons" model, has entered its classic season following the summer tourism season. This season brings together a variety of cultural, tourism, commercial, sports, and exhibition activities across the city.
Centered around six major themes — urban exploration, shopping sprees, cultural and artistic tours, national trend tours, online intelligent tours, and countryside adventures — the festival will feature over 200 high-quality events and products. These aim to enhance global appeal, elevate visitor experiences, and promote inclusive enjoyment through affordable initiatives.
A highlight is the grand parade on Sept 13, showcasing diverse cultures along the Huangpu River. International performance teams will also offer free shows at iconic locations like the Oriental Pearl Tower from Sept 14 to 16. The festival will conclude with an immersive traditional Chinese night tour and a float parade at the Expo Culture Park in Pudong New Area on Oct 6.

Pudong will host a series of events, including beer festivals, outdoor camping, and waterfront activities, blending urban charm with natural beauty. Discounts on entrance tickets to over 60 attractions will further boost public participation.
