New school to ensure balanced educational development in Lin-gang

The No 2 High School of East China Normal University will launch its branch in the Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone in East China's Shanghai, which will promote the balanced educational development in Lin-gang, according to news released on Jan 25.

The new high school, which has a senior high school and an international education department, will introduce advanced teaching methods and educational resources to develop it into a world-class high school. It is expected to give a boost to Lin-gang's role as a new highland of global education innovation.

Local authorities said that the new school will cover 69,976 square meters, has 60 classes in total, and is expected to be completed in May 2023. The area is divided into three sections that consist of school buildings, dormitories and sports facilities.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, Lin-gang will introduce more high-quality educational resources, and promote the innovative development of the area's educational governance. A high-quality and balanced basic educational system is expected to be completed in Lin-gang by 2035, with the aim of opening up the educational sector.
