SEMICON China 2020 to kick off in Pudong

SEMICON China 2020, one of the world's most influential semiconductor exhibitions, will be held in Pudong New Area, Shanghai from June 27 to 29, according to a news conference for the event on June 16.

According to Lu Qixing, deputy director of the commerce commission of Pudong, the event will be the first industrial exhibition held in the area since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak and the first in the semiconductor sector this year, creating hope for the recovery of the industry in China.

This year’s exhibition will cover an area of more than 80,000 square meters, with 1,000 exhibitors taking part. Based on the industrial characteristics of China and global development trends, there will be four exhibition areas focusing on the manufacturing of integrated circuits (IC), compound semiconductors, technological innovation of IC materials, and the development of the SEMI workforce.

More than 20 conferences and other activities will be held simultaneously, focusing on chip design, manufacturing, sealing and testing, equipment, and materials supply.

Organizers also revealed that the keynote speech at the opening ceremony will gather industrial leaders from around the world to discuss industrial development trends, important issues, and technological application.

The three-day event will also include several technological forums focusing on artificial intelligent, 5G, innovation and investment, memories, smart automobiles, intelligent manufacturing, and new-type display.

Organizers stressed that top priority will be given to the health and safety of all participants. A series of epidemic prevention measures will be taken in accordance with government regulations.
