An international forum focusing on the high-end technology and green products of China-Russia biological medicine was held in Shanghai's Pudong New Area recently.

China and Russia have been cooperating closely in the field of biological medicine in recent years. Several platforms have been set up by the two sides, including the China-Russia Innovation Center for Biological Medicine and the China-Russia International Center for Biological Medicine Technology Transfer and Commercialization.

During the forum, more than 100 biological medicine projects were launched, three of which will be set up on the Pudong-Russia incubator platform in Pudong's Zhangjiang Science City.

Since the Pudong-Russia incubator platform was established in Zhangjiang three years ago, a total of 12 Russian enterprises have set up operations in China through the platform.

Additionally, Cao Hongming, director of the biological medicine division of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, said that Shanghai is extremely open to cooperating with foreign biological medicine enterprises.

He also pointed out that by 2020, Shanghai will have achieved an industrial output value of 400 billion yuan ($57.94 billion) in the field of biological medicine.
