Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park rated national five-star base

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China recently revealed the results of its evaluation of national new industrialization demonstration bases in 2018.
Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park in Pudong New Area was rated as a five-star biomedical demonstration base.
The park has formed an innovation cluster for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries and is becoming a leading sci-tech park in China in terms of R&D, new technology and new development models.
In the field of biological medicine, Zhangjiang is now home to 16 R&D centers and multinational company headquarters, 10 large domestic pharmaceutical enterprises, more than 300 small and medium-sized innovative enterprises, and 24 precision medicine enterprises.
Meanwhile, more than 200 medical device enterprises have also based themselves in Zhangjiang.
To inject new energy to its biomedical industry, Pudong New Area recently rolled out a blueprint for four industrial bases, aiming for a manufacturing industrial output and high-tech service industry revenue of 100 billion yuan ($14.88 billion) by 2020.
A total of 332 demonstration bases took part in the evaluation, and 28 were rated five-star demonstration bases. These bases are national leaders in 21 fields including rail transit equipment, petrochemicals and medicine.
