The International Technology Transfer Center was inaugurated in Shanghai on Sept 21, with the aim of promoting international exchanges and cooperation in technology.

Affiliated to the Shanghai Association of Experts with Outstanding Contributions, the center will bring together the supply and demand information of various technology and projects from home and abroad to form an international technology transfer network.

It will bring in internationally-advanced technology for Chinese companies and also transfer the proven technology to countries and regions that need such technology.

Industry experts have said that Shanghai is capable of developing into a technology transfer hub by integrating international technological resources and capital, as the city takes the lead in technological innovation and the industrialization of technological achievements.

The Shanghai Association of Experts with Outstanding Contributions is a non-profit social organization composed of Chinese academicians, high-profile experts and scholars that work in Shanghai.

The association has been dedicated to using the expertise of its members to serve Shanghai's goals of further opening up and becoming a global city.
