New Shanghai incentive targets young scientific researchers
Shanghai has recently launched a new incentive program called "Super Postdoctoral Fellow" to encourage innovation amongst young technical personnel.
The program targets postdoctoral fellows that were born after Jan 1, 1983, and also has high requirements on the applicants' scientific research capacity and moral virtue, amongst other factors.
The applicants are required to work in national and municipal-level scientific research projects involved in the fields of cosmogony, celestial observation, photon science and technology, life science and biomedicine, integrated circuit and computing science, brain science and artificial intelligence, aerospace, naval architecture and ocean engineering, quantum science, high-end equipment and intelligent manufacturing, new energy, new material, Internet of Things, and big data.
They also need to make creative scientific breakthroughs and make contributions to the construction of Shanghai as a scientific and technological center. The postdoctoral researcher selected into the program will receive a subsidy of 150,000 yuan ($21,741) per year for two years.
