Pudong CPPCC members inspect Zhangjiang Science City

A delegation of over 160 CPPCC members of Shanghai's Pudong New Area visited the city's Zhangjiang area on Nov 2 to inspect the proceeding of Zhangjiang Science City construction.
The science city project, with a goal of bringing together various incubators, includes five incubator clusters, which are Zhangjiang International Innovation Harbor featuring internationalization, Zhangjiang Legendary Entrepreneurship Plaza serving as venues for various activities, Changtai Commercial Area featuring venture capital, Zhangjiang International Scientific Innovation Center highlighting professional incubation services, and Zhangjiang Southern Area featuring smart manufacturing and biomedicine.
One destination for the visitors was Zhangjiang International Innovation Harbor housing the innovation and incubation bases of Microsoft, Alibaba, Intel, and China Europe International Business School, as well as various leading incubators including multinationals joint incubator, vπ, Xnode, and Tribe Cloud.
Also, an international innovation and entrepreneurship public service platform has been set up on the 1st floor of the harbor to offer startup firms comprehensive services.
Another destination was Shanghai People Net Security Technology Co, a hi-tech firm specializing in R&D of network and information security technology and manufacturing of related products.
Founded in 2007, the company has built a cryptography-based, identity authentication-centered, and information security-oriented business model. It has obtained over 100 national patents.
After the tour, the CPPCC members also attended a meeting to provide advices on Zhangjiang Science City construction.
Some members mentioned creating a better environment for talents development, giving young white collars a more comfortable city to live and work in.
Some suggested bringing in more quality kindergartens, primary and middle schools to improve basic education, making Zhangjiang a more vigorous place, turning Zhangjiang into a real origin of innovation, strengthening medical service innovation, and bringing in top overseas medical technology and equipment, drugs and treatment to benefit domestic citizens.
Wang Jing, deputy head of Pudong, hoped that the CPPCC members will provide more suggestions on Pudong's innovation to help Zhangjiang develop into a world first-class science city.
