In a groundbreaking development for China's robotics sector, Shanghai-based AgiBot has deployed nearly 100 A2-W dual-armed mobile robots at an automotive components factory in Mianyang, Sichuan province.

This marks China's first large-scale commercial application of industrial embodied robots, signaling their transition from experimental prototypes to mainstream manufacturing tools.

The robots, purchased by auto parts supplier Fulin Precision Machinery for tens of millions of yuan, underwent rigorous real-world testing in July.

During a three-hour livestreamed demonstration, the robots executed over 800 cargo transfers per shift across assembly lines with near-perfect accuracy. "This live validation of embodied AI's industrial potential convinced us to adopt robotic automation," explained Fulin's engineering director Deng Yang.

AgiBot, which recently secured multi-million-yuan contracts alongside Unitree Robotics, positions this as a watershed moment.

"We're moving from technology verification to trillion-yuan market commercialization," declared Wang Chuang, president of AgiBot's general-purpose division. The deployment expands from initial testing at two stations to 15 core production points handling more than 500 daily machine deliveries.

China's robotics industry is surging, with first-half revenues jumping 27.8 percent year-on-year according to official data. The nation maintains its 12-year lead as the world's largest industrial robot market. Key innovations driving adoption include multi-modal perception systems for safe human-robot collaboration, dual-arm precision handling up to 20kg, and autonomous error recovery algorithms.
