The fifth Zhangjiang Hi-Tech and ICWise Semiconductor Industry Summit was held in Pudong New Area, Shanghai on April 13.

The summit aims to promote the Shanghai IC industry to a global audience and build a high-end communication industrial platform.

World-renowned IC business leaders and experts, including Reinhard Ploss, CEO of Infineon Technologies, and Li Weiguang, CEO of ASM Pacific Technology, attended the summit.

In 2018, Shanghai's IC industry achieved sales revenue of 145 billion yuan ($21.61 billion), up 23 percent year-on-year, among which Pudong's IC industry achieved 106.6 billion yuan, up 32 percent, accounting for 73 percent of Shanghai's total.

Shanghai Integrated Circuit Design Industrial Park in Pudong's Zhangjiang Science City is striving to become a world-class pioneer in the development of integrated circuits, according to Hang Yingwei, head of Pudong.

"We welcome entrepreneurs from home and abroad. We want anyone who can help push forward innovation and entrepreneurship," said Hang.

The annual event was jointly organized by Zhangjiang Hi-Tech and ICWise, a provider of market research and advisory services to China's semiconductor and electronics industry.
